The MBGP was founded in 1962 by local legend Ted Ernst. It is now is the second longest running one day in America and draws contestants from six continents.   Join the VBA for a flat ten mile ride to the race, we'll watch the Final two races, and ride back to our cars.  The rendezvous point is Brian Ignatin's Peripheral Vision Company in Marina Del Rey.  To get there, Exit 405 at Jefferson Blvd.  West 1.5 mile to a signal and right turn on Beethoven Street. At the end of the street on the left side of the cul de sac, is 5301 Beethoven.  Park in the lot at rear.  Spaces are marked "tape labs". We'll depart at 11AM

If we get split up, or for members who do not ride, we'll meet at the western side of the Start/Finish line at Noon.   Join us for racing excitement!   For detailed information about the race, try WWW.MBGP.com

Matthew's Jack Taylor with the mysterious shifter plate.  Ever seen one?
A 37 year old, self proclaimed  bike-o-holic from Belmont Shore, CA, Mark's "stable" includes a selection of English bikes-a pair of Jack Taylors, a Mercian, a '49 Hetchins Nulli Secundus, a Harry Quinn (track), several Raleigh's including an International & a pair of Gran Sports. From France he has 2 Peugeot PX 10E's, a Gitane TdF, Mercier, Motobecane, Follis & Lejeune.  From Italy, an Atala (track), 3 Colnago's, a non-Cino Cinelli, Rossin, Tommasini, 2 Rigi's and a Masi. Toss in a 753 Merckx, a Zeus & an Austro Daimler &  that's the Euro stuff.  From the US; a 1930's 6 day racer, '60 & '66  Schwinn Paramounts, (and a bunch of other assorted Schwinns) a Teledyne Titan, a Facet Bio-Cam, an early '77 531 Trek (pre-corporate octopus), an AMP B-2 & gasp... a Cannondale or two. There's more… like a "few" derailleurs.

Matthew says he's very happily married to Catherine who "understands". They have a 14 month old daughter named Mary.  There's rumor that Catherine plans an equivalent collection of children.  Matthew of course, will "need" a fleet of tricycles.

Seriously, Matthew deserves our recognition, not only because he has the requisite toys, but because he is has attended almost every VBA event for the past two years.  Further, he is one of the nicest and most helpful souls around.  Come on out and meet him!
