Twelve riders met at Fallbrook High & rode to the home of Jimmie & Helen Thomson.  There they found an elegant buffet & 20 of Jimmie's Hetchin bicycles displayed on the garden patio.  A wonderful setting to study a fine collection of these legendary bicycles!  Many riders tried, unsuccessfully, to pick a favorite, but were overwhelmed!

The display bikes were  not the only interesting hardware present.  Riders bikes included: Scott Goldstein's Hetchins Magnum Opus Curly, Jim Cunningham's Magnum Opus Curly, Phil Brown's Hetchin inspired curly stay custom, Matthew Gorski on a full touring Jack Taylor, Chuck Schmidt on a c1960 Legnano, Karl Bonowitz on his Vitus, Charles O'Toole on his impossibly clean Mercian, Bob Behnke's Trek, (he's holding out for an Herse) Jack Castor's Columbia Dashboard.

Brian Ignatin & Bill Corbett drove support.  All enjoyed & finished the hilly 25 miler which included the huge descent on old 395. At one point, the three curly bikes formed a pace line, I wonder when that last happened?

An impromptu swap ensued after the ride, then a lunch at Fallbrook's finest beanery!
